DIVX DOWNLOADS : Neil, thanks for your support of the 2002 calendar. You are exactlyright. It was intended to feature a send up of 12 different classicsci-fi movies. Half of them are original, and half are inspired byepisodes of the show, though not exact scenes (obviously, Tom King'sBender Vs. Zoidberg is a prime example). Originally, this calendar wasgoing to be a collection of Futurama movie posters (like the Love'slabours Lost in Space center fold), but not enough loyal Futurama fanspurchased the previous calendar and the publication of the 2002 modelwas up in the air. When we finally got the go-ahead, it was too late todo such a lavish production for every month, so we decided to shelvethat idea and just do scenes that were inspired by movies. I decided todo it with original material (because that's fun for us) and stuff fromthe show. I'm actually surprised that so many people hated the "showinspired" images, because I thought that fans of the show wouldappreciate those classic moments more than what we came up with. Gofigure! Believe me, the last thing we want to do is to put out a productthat doesn't measure up to the high standards we have on the show! Anyway, we're starting to work on the 2003 calendar (believe it ornot!) and we are in the same position as last year. However, theroadblock this time is money, not time. Sales of the 2002 calendar arestill not great, so our new budget will prevent us from doing the fullypainted movie poster extravaganza.
