Der einzige "Vorteil" gegenüber einem normalen MPEG3-Codec ist, dass er auch die Option 64k/s bei 44KHz hat (klingt aber extrem bescheiden). Das hat ihm bei den Dilettanten der Ripperszene zu einer gewissen Beliebheit verholfen. DIVX AUDIO : Hi everyone, I have ripped a DVD and encoded it with FlaskMPEG usingthe DivX Fast-Motion codec. The audio is done in PCM format. Now, I knowthat this audio format creates VERY large files and a while back I read thatyou could use VirtualDub to compress the sound stream into DivX format, Iactually did it as well but I can't remember how I did it. If any of youknow how to do this please could you reply to this post.TIAWilliam--On the Keyboard of Life, Always keepyour finger on the ESCAPE Key!! :o)(Read the WHOLE of the post before doing this)Hi Herman, The way I did it was by first opening the movie inVirtualDub and then going to the video menu and select "Direct StreamCopy" - this means that the video won't be altered in any way. Then go tothe audio menu and select "Compression". Go down the list and then findeither "DivX ;-) Audio" or "MPEG Layer-3". If you have got the MP3compression option USE THAT!! (Otherwise, the movie will not reduce thatmuch in size with DivX audio).I find that with the MP3 compression the "96kBit/s, 48,000Hz, Stereo12Kb/s" setting works best and usually generates a file that will fit on CD.(If you need the MP3 codec goto (you may need to restartafter installing it)) Once you have selected that click ok and click on theaudio menu again, make sure that "AVI audio" is selected and "Fullprocessing mode" is selected as well. Once that is done goto the file menuand select "Save AVI..." it will then ask you for the new filename and afterthat it will start creating the new AVI. Usually it takes about an hourdepending on the size of the movie. Oh, one last thing if you have hadproblems with the audio dropping behind the video this will fix it as longas you have selected "Sync to Audio" selected under the options menu.I hope that isn't to confusing!! ;-)Let me know how you got on!!William DIVX AUDIO : I've been poring over this newsgroup and the web to try to solve thefollowing problem I'm having but to no avail. I would appreciate anyhelp in solving this.I am having an audio sync problem with divx files I have created*only* when I try to fast-forward the file. If I start playing thefile from the start and don't touch the position slider, the audiostays in perfect sync. If I move the position slider though, thevideo quickly catches up, but the audio does not. This happens withWindows Media Player, and other players as well. Also, I've noticedthat this *does not* happen on other divx files I have that I didn'tencode myself, so it's not a problem with my PCs speed (full specs tofollow)....which covers sync problems I don't seem to have -- since my audiois perfectly in sync unless I try to move the position.
